Overview

Miller Hull is seeking an architectural visualization specialist to join the MH Graphics Lab in developing the representation of architectural projects. Applicants with a background in architecture are preferred, and all candidates must demonstrate an expertise in architectural representation. This position will involve the creation of computer-generated graphics including perspective renderings, orthographic line drawings and diagrams. In collaboration with the Graphics Manager and Graphics Lab and involving both our Seattle and San Diego studios, this individual will work alongside project teams building high-quality graphics and should be comfortable producing visualizations ranging from photo-realistic renderings to abstract collages and mixed media techniques.

Applicants are asked to upload a work sample containing up to 10 architectural visualizations that they personally have produced. Uploads should be formatted as a multi-page pdf less than 10mb in size.  All applications must be received no later than Tuesday, April 30, 2019 and will be held in the strictest confidence. Only qualified candidates will be contacted for further information. No expenses related to submittal, interview or relocation will be reimbursed by Miller Hull.

 

Required Experience:

Demonstrate an understanding of design concept and an ability to apply and execute assigned tasks and responsibilities which further the design concept.
Candidates must have a background in architectural visualization and be proficient in the tools listed.
Minimum 3 years experience working in the architectural profession.
Professional degree in one of the following academic programs: architecture, design, computer animation.

Job Requirements:

Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply:

1.     Proficiency with Revit and MS Office platforms

2.     Understanding and/or experience with technical aspects of architecture

3.     Ability to produce high quality architectural graphics effective in communicating the work of the Miller Hull Partnership

4.     Ability to manage the production of many images simultaneously across multiple projects while working with other staff to ensure that established standards of quality and consistency are met

5.     Ability to develop content which can address the needs of a diverse range of project types and clients

6.     Ability to curate and edit content for specialized pursuits and audiences

7.     A demonstrated ability to collaborate with others in a design team environment

8.     Ability to work collaboratively with design teams in the development of content as a project advances

9.     Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills- both graphic and verbal

Demonstrated proficiency with one or more of the following:

Candidates must be fluent in the tools listed below. Alternate tools and workflows may be presented at the discretion of each applicant.

·         Rhino

·         3D Studio Max

·         Lumion

·         Vray

·         Adobe Creative Suite

Desired additional skills

·         Multimedia software such as Adobe Premiere & After Effects

·         Ability to create animations and fly-throughs

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
The employee is regularly expected to work at a computer for 2-3 consecutive hours at a time.
The employee is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
